daal curry

Dearest ______,

The other day, I told my colleague how much Jawo loved Indian food. It would be helpful to note that my colleague is in fact from Kerala (South of India)- I wasn’t just randomly saying stuff out to people okay. Not this time, ha.


The very next day, she handed me a generous tub of Daal Curry she had made herself! This was authentic stuff- homemade Indian Daal Curry, yo (even if she says Daal is basically from the North)!


It was really good, the first bite induced a “WOW!” from the aficionado. For a first- timer, I boiled potatoes and put them into the curry. I ate it with rice, but I understand it goes with flat bread, chapati, prata, etc as well.


And she told me how to make it too:

“You basically need onions, tomato, garlic, mustard seeds , curry leaves , green chilli and salt…”

… Or I could just visit her house for Vishu (their New Year celebration) this April, right?
