Everybody’s into brunching out these days.
“But why?“, you might ask.
If you’ve ever been to the Artisan Boulangerie Co. smack in the middle of the city though (a little off Orchard, along Killiney Road), I reckon you’d be swayed to partake more in this very hip quasi- period of the day (it’s neither breakfast nor lunch, after all).
The French word boulangerie, which means a bakery that specializes in the baking and selling of bread, clearly defines this cafe’s specialty- its breads and pastries. They all looked and tasted divine.
We quietly mocked the many different ways the word “artisan” has been abused through the years, when businesses try to assume a certain amount of clout and presence: _____ Artisan Coffee, _____ Hand- crafted Artisan Beer, etc
ABC thrives and lives by its name though. The long queue at the counter and the fully- occupied tables can easily attest to this.
As to why people go out to brunches, maybe it’s simply for the experience of chic places like this.
